What it addresses
ISO 4796-1 specifies a series of screw-neck laboratory bottles suitable for storing liquid and solid chemicals and reagents and for preparing or storing microbiological growth media.
Note
The standard applies to the covered screw-neck bottle series. It does not automatically cover every closure material, pouring ring, coating, pressure application, sterilisation cycle, amber treatment or custom bottle design. Suitability for a particular chemical, pressure or thermal process must be confirmed separately.
Wall-build customisation
Wall-build options may be discussed for handling strength or application needs, subject to the applicable dimensions, material, closure compatibility, thermal behaviour and use conditions. Custom wall construction must not be presented as ISO conforming unless the completed design is verified against the applicable requirements.
